We were up around 5 for 8AM flights. Security and customs was a breeze, and we had breakfast at a Tim Hortons in the airport. Lana bought some doughnuts to take to Bill and Kathy, our Canadian neighbors and friends back home.
Shortly after breakfast, we separated back into our traveling pairs, and set back off for Florida. I slept almost the entire first flight, to Houston, where Gina and I had a 5 hour layover scheduled. We were able to bump up to an earlier flight, but would still have to wait for Lana and Zena in once we hit the ground back home in Ft. Walton Beach. Better to wait in Ft. Walton than Houston, at least we were in Florida, and the Ft Walton airport had free Wi-Fi! So we set up shop in an airport bar and called Lana and Zena to see how their flights were going. They had 3 connections today (we only had two), but by a stroke of luck, got upgraded to first class on the first leg, and enjoyed teasing us about how much room they had and how good the food was. |
Everybody got to Ft. Walton Beach safe and sound, and we found ourselves back in the driveway about 11PM CST. Another great trip in the books.
