Welcome to Panama City Real Estate News!

Former House Speaker Tip O’Neal is famous for saying “All politics is local”.  You could say that the theme of Panama City Real Estate News is “All real estate is local!”.  National trends are interesting, and many “macro” factors (interest rates, tax policy, Fanny and Freddie policy, and the like) have significant effects on our Bay County house market.  However, any such market is heavily influenced by local, “micro” factors…things like local unemployment and population trends, building starts, county home foreclosure rates, city council rulings, new airports, oil spills, and such.  Since I make my living buying and selling houses in Bay County (and ONLY Bay County), I have an interest in keeping my finger on the pulse of our local market.

My goal in publishing Panama City Real Estate News is to share my thoughts on the LOCAL market with other investors and homeowners in Panama City and Panama City Beach.  I find that the media is full of information about what is happening in San Fransisco and Chicago and Houston and Miami.  I don’t care about any of that. I want to know what’s going on in Panama City and Lynn Haven and PCB and Callaway.  Not a lot of reporting on that in the Wall Street Journal…

My business revolves around single family homes, so you won’t find a lot of information about condos and commercial properties here.  I won’t spend a lot of time writing about the rural northern areas of the county like Fountain and Youngstown.  And I am ignoring Mexico Beach entirely, as it marches to the beat of it’s own drummer.  But if you have and interest in houses in Panama City, Panama City Beach, Callaway, Parker, Springfield, Lynn Haven, or Southport, you are in the right place.

I hope that you find the information below interesting and informative, and I encourage and appreciate your comments and suggestions.  Thanks for stopping by!
