Chan and I agreed the tent arrangements worked very well. This was the second night we had slept in the tent on this airbed. Chan asked me a few weeks back if we could do a test run in the tent on the air mattress in our backyard. I must admit waking up to the sounds of the campground was much nicer than the sounds of our neighbors' cars leaving for work and school! Chan went to the truck and brought out his camp stove and a pot to boil some water for tea. I decided this morning I would take a shower in their camper instead of going back to the house. Chan said he would go up to the bath house while I was using the camper shower. It had a small tub with a sink and head. Much more room than you would think. After showers, Dulcie fixed us pancakes and we also nibbled on left over chicken from the night before. Tripp and Martha packed up; they had a birthday party to attend, but said they might come back and have dinner with us. I gave Evan & Reece part of their birthday presents and we played with them for a long time.

Chan had decided to lay back down as he had a bit of a headache. The boys decided he didn't need to sleep. The results: Video, 6.9 Mb, 1:48, WMV format.
Sometime around noon we started thinking about going to the movies for a matinee, so we gathered everyone up and headed to the theatre about 45 minutes away, with a side trip to Wal-Mart for movie treats. We decided to see the new “Pirates of the Caribbean”. It started at 2:30 and ended at 5:30, and we thought we might catch Shrek 3 as well. However, it was getting late and Tripp & Martha were coming back for dinner, so we decided we better head home by way of the ice cream shop. Evan was not a happy camper that we weren’t going to see Shrek, but he soon forgot about it while eating his smoothie. Back at camp I took Evan & Reece to the playground to shoot their water guns that Martha had bought then the day before. They had a great time and I enjoyed watching all the other kids having fun. Gary and Chan went back to the house to load the motorcycle trailer. Everyone ended up back at camp sometime around 7:00. Reece wanted to hit his baseball so I took he and Leah over to the grass field just steps from our campsite. They both took turns batting and catching, this is where I found out what a good player Leah was. Before long it was getting dark and we went back to the camp, where Gary had ribs, hotdogs and bacon on the grill, smelling great. Dulcie put out coleslaw and potato salad and told everyone to make plate. I’ve never had a hotdog so good until I ate this one with a piece of bacon wrapped around it. Chan says "Everything is better with bacon"! We sat around the fire talking for some time when Dulcie brought out some wooden dowels out to make dessert. You spray the dowel with butter flavor PAM, wrap breadstick dough around it and cook it over the campfire until it’s done. When it slides off easily you know it’s ready, then you can fill it with whatever you like. Dulcie had brought mini-marshmallows and chocolate chips. Now that was a fun idea that tasted great and was easy to make. Well, it was easy for some of us, others had a hard time keeping their dough on the stick, Chan. Sometime around midnight Martha asked Tripp to gather the family so they could go home and we all followed suit and went to bed.
